Simulacra is a body of work utilizing old snapshots and artificial intelligence. Using A.I. as a text-based means of collage, I deconstruct and then reconstruct these personal histories that have been lost by their original owners. However, like a memory being recalled, each new iteration, every retelling of the story is altered slightly. Upon completion, the original photograph is removed from circulation. All that remains is a simulacrum, an intentionally faulty substitute of the original.
