The culmination of an extensive body of work that invites the viewer to witness the formation of a single, collective memory. Collective is a series of books and videos made using live webcam images of recurring actions in culturally significant spaces. Collective: Times Square, captures the steady stream of people looking to capture Times Square through their own cameras. Collective: Abbey Road, chronicles the mass of people who flock to the street crossing made famous by the Beatles, as they attempt to re-enact the famous album cover photograph. Collective: Dealey Plaza, documents those who come to stand near the X that marks where John F. Kennedy was assassinated. This narrative investigates our use of photography in an increasingly digital and interconnected world, at the same time bridging the gap between the seemingly unrelated events that unfold at these sites.
